This was my first physically distanced wedding of the year and was it ever beautiful! Luis + Michelle had a beautiful backyard ceremony celebration at Michelle's childhood home. It was decorated with balloons, ribbon, candles and the sights of nature. Family and friends (group of 10) gathered to witness this couple unite as one. Even though there were only 10 in physical sight, family of Luis + Michelle gathered virtually over Zoom to celebrate with them. It was both an emotional and joyful day spent with the ones they love most. To total surprise for the couple, close friends came to surprise them in their cars with honking, balloons, gifts and smiles. It was a beautiful time spent with friends supporting them in this time even though they couldn't physically be at the wedding. It was absolutely amazing to witness!
After the ceremony festivities Luis, Michelle and I snuck away for some much needed portraits. The unique thing about these portraits was that there was a peace that followed them. Since we were in no rush to get to a reception venue we were able to just breathe and enjoy our time. What had sparked in me again was a creativity that I haven't seen in a long time.
With this wedding it helped me realize the importance of being surrounded by the ones you love. It's important for us to cherish our time greatly with our loved ones and to hold close the moments we have with them. Even though this celebration didn't go as it was originally planned, it was beautiful and just how it was meant to be.
Congrats Luis + Michelle on your beautiful day and I can't wait to celebrate big with you next year! Cheers to the first of many physically distanced weddings this summer, I can't wait to see what this adventure looks like <3
